The Best Luxury Wedding Villas in Bali

Our Recommended Venues for a Perfect Bali Wedding

Seated guests watching couple take their wedding vows in a garden overlooking the ocean

How to choose a venue for your Bali wedding

There are literally thousands of villas in Bali. Only a few of them have the capacity for a wedding. You need to decide on your priorities. What is most important to you; accommodation capacity (lots of your friends and family staying at the villa), the guest capacity of the gardens (how many people can the venue comfortably fit for the wedding), the view (clifftop ocean view, beachfront ocean view or paddy fields and countryside view), location (do you want to be close to restaurants, entertainment and additional accommodation or are you not bothered) and cost.

What makes a good wedding venue in Bali?

Your choice of wedding venue needs to have enough garden space for the ceremony, the post ceremony drinks and photo area and the dinner reception area. Please understand that the decor takes about 6 hours to build and create so a venue with a single small garden is not going to work - we can’t just move the dinner set up and decor out of the way for the ceremony and back again, it’s not going to happen. We have been honest about the maximum guest size of each of the venues listed below so if you listen to our advice then this should initially narrow down your choices.

We have been organising weddings in villas and resorts for over 5 years and have had thousands of enquiries and a lot of the times a client contacts us after they have done their own research. What we have discovered is our definition of comfortable guest amounts and other wedding planners or venue managers definition of guest amounts are very different. For example, the first villa on our list below is Khayangan Estate. We’ve lost count of the amount of clients that have been told that a ceremony for 250 and even 350 is possible. It’s not. Our recommended guest amount for the ceremony is 120 - see the photo above taken during a ceremony at the venue for a good example of this (this wedding had 120 guests - where would you fit more?). So be diligent and either trust a wedding planner that has photographs of their weddings at the venue or go visit the venue yourself and see. If you stick to our guidelines then you are safe.

Important information on renting a wedding venue in Bali

Most luxury villas in Bali must be rented for a minimum 3 nights; first day check in, second day the wedding, third day recovery and fourth day check out. There are exceptions to this, some villas the minimum rental is two nights but there maybe restrictions attached. All the information on this is included in the venue profiles below. We have also included Wonderland Uluwatu which is an event space with no accommodation that you can rent for just one day.

We get a lot of enquiries from clients who want to party the night away. Bali isn’t really designed for this. Most venues have a curfew of 10pm to 11pm. Some are later - you can find the information below. Some allow you to move to a communal room after the curfew (the amount of guests maybe restricted) and carry on from 30 minutes to 3 hours more with music from a portable Bluetooth speaker only. However there are a few villas that will allow a much later finish time. Alternatively you can move the party to a nightclub or private club if you are within easy distance of the entertainment areas of Bali.

How much does a Bali wedding villa cost?

We've included the costs of each venue at the bottom of their profiles. When the cost is in USD Dollars and / or IDR Indonesian Rupiah we have stated as such. Sometimes the venues charge in USD and the Banjar fee (local village) charge in IDR. When this is the case the total cost is the two added together. Please use the Currency Converter below to calculate the total cost.

DISCLAIMER: These costs are correct at as of 01/01/2021. We do our best to keep the costs up to date but they may change. We do not accept any liability for any changes. We've included a link to each of the venue's websites so you can double check yourself. If you are unsure and want clarification please contact us and we'll happily check for you.

Here are some quick links to help you choose your ideal Bali wedding venue

Khayangan Estate

A stunning clifftop villa with beautiful cascading gardens and a breathtaking ocean view

Jalan Goa Lempeh, Pecatu, Uluwatu, Kabupaten Badung, Bali, Indonesia 80364

Garden view of villa Khayangan Estate in Bali

Khayangan Estate is easily the most popular private luxury villa in Bali. Unfortunately that also makes it the most expensive. However it’s hard to beat; clifftop, panoramic ocean view, multiple event spaces that can accommodate weddings up to 150 guests, extremely well maintained, very green and the six Joglos (villas) and communal buildings have a very traditional Indonesian vibe.

The half circle garden (pictured) is perfect for a cliff edge ceremony and can fit 120 guests. We’ve been told many times by prospective clients that other wedding planners and wedding websites claim that it’s possible to have a ceremony with 300 guests. This is not possible. It is possible to have the ceremony in the lower garden for 250 guests comfortably but that means we have no space for the dinner area which is always bigger as we use tables, chairs, entertainment area etc and this takes around 6 to 8 hours to set up so it cannot be moved to the side. Trust us - the half circle garden is the best option with maximum of 120 guests.

If we were to be critical of Khayangan Estate we would not recommend the venue if you have lots of elderly guests and children as there are a lot of steps going up and down the cascading gardens and pathways. There’s also no permanent back up venue in case of rain, if you want to have your wedding between October to March you may need to consider paying extra for a marquee or risk of wash out. The strict curfew of 11pm means that if you want to carry on partying you will have to convene to the living room which can only accommodate 30 guests comfortably. Lastly all guests not staying in the villa must leave the property by 1am sharp.

Notes

Breakfast included. Balloon release allowed. All guests not staying in the villa must leave the villa by 1am sharp.

Jeeva Saba

A large beachfront villa with beautiful manicured gardens and plenty of space in East Bali

Pantai, Jl. Pura Anyar No.8, Saba, Blahbatuh, Gianyar, Bali, Indonesia 80581

Garden view of villa Jeeva Saba in Bali

The first thing that strikes you when you arrive to the entrance of Jeeva Saba is how much it looks like entering a professional resort. The villa was built to a very high standard and has been impeccably maintained since. Inside the villa is an eclectic mix of Asian, colonial and modern furniture and decoration. The various garden areas are all very large and unobstructed enabling us to use them to their maximum potential.

The central lawn (pictured) is perfect for larger wedding ceremonies of up to 150 guests. For a smaller ceremony with up to 70 guests we would recommend the front lawn (bottom of the photo). Both have a view of the beach and ocean. As the villa is quite remote and they have no real neighbours the view shouldn’t be spoiled by holidaymakers (unlike weddings in Seminyak and Canggu). To the right of the photo is an even larger rectangular garden which is perfect for the dinner reception. Fireworks can be launched from the beach in front of the villa and it makes for a fantastic display above the ocean if you wish to add the firework option to your wedding package.

Post curfew you can covnene to the large living room and carry on partying using the in-house sound system until 2.30am.

The top benefits of Jeeva Saba are that it’s very affordable, the property is huge, it feels luxurious, the management is very easy to work with (possibly the best on this list) and it can be rented for 2 nights only (on their website they state you can rent it for 1 night but that’s not enough time for us to build the decoration and prepare the wedding).

As much as we love Jeeva Saba as a wedding venue there are a few points that should be considered; the location is quite a long way from the airport and nowhere near any entertainment or restaurants and it is beachfront but the sand is dark grey.

Noku Beach House

Extremely stlyish & spacious modern villa on Seminyak beach

Jalan Sarinande No.22, Seminyak, Kuta, Kabupaten Badung, Bali, Indonesia 80361

Aerial view of villa Noku Beach House in Bali

There’s not many private event villas on Seminyak beach so this is quite a find. Designed in a modern zen like style with expensive furniture and fittings, in our opinion Noku is possibly the most luxurious villa venue on this list. A really cool place to hang out and enjoy the villa as well as using it for your wedding venue.

The front lawn is a little narrow but would be perfect for a ceremony with the beach and ocean as your backdrop for up 80 guests. The big lawn is the obvious solution for your dinner reception and can easily accommodate 120 guests.

As the villa is located in the heart of Seminyak there are literally hundreds of accommodation options for all budgets within walking distance to choose from. There’s also dozens of clubs, countless restaurants and shops close by.

The only concern you should be aware of is Indonesian beaches are open to the public. We cannot stop people from sunbathing, walking their dog or swimming on the beach in front of the villa during your wedding ceremony.

Villa Latitude

A minimalistic modern cliff edge villa complex with a panoramic ocean view

Karang Kembar Estate No. 1, Jalan Karang Putih, Desa Kutuh, Kutuh, Kec. Kuta Sel., Kabupaten Badung, Bali, Indonesia 80364

Aerial view of Villa Latitude in Bali

Perched on the clifftop and overlooking Pandawa Beach, Villa Latitude is the perfect wedding villa for couples looking for a modern and funky venue with a stunning panoramic view of the ocean. We would describe Latitude as the perfect party villa with its two event gardens, it’s very late curfew and a dedicated afterparty area - their stylish entertainment pavilion with an enormous swimming pool.

The upper lawn is perfect for wedding ceremonies with up to 80 guests and the lower lawn can handle wedding receptions with up to 120 guests comfortably. Both event spaces are cliff edge and enjoy the ocean view. If you choose the optional extra of a firework display then prepare to be amazed, the performance is spectacular as they launch the fireworks from the beach below you. The standard curfew is 12.30am which is quite late for wedding villas in Bali, post curfew you and your guests can convene to the entertainment pavilion and continue to party until 3am using a bluetooth speaker for music.

For those managing a tighter budget then consider a wedding on Tuesday or Wednesday - the minimum rental period is only 2 nights.

Be warned that due to the layout of Villa Latitude there are a lot of stairs so it may not be ideal if you have a lot of elderly or young guests attending your wedding.

Bayu Sabbha

A magnificent cliff edge villa with sculpted gardens full of colour overlooking the famous Uluwatu surf break

Jalan Goa Lempeh, Pecatu, Uluwatu, Kabupaten Badung, Bali, Indonesia 80364

Garden view of villa Bayah Sabbah in Bali

The first thing that strikes you about Bayuh Sabbha is how big everything is. There’s a long driveway that takes you through a clifftop garden towards the entrance, then you walk through the complex of villas and there’s a lot of communal space and the villas themselves have plenty of room. Nonetheless that’s not the biggest draw, without a doubt this wedding villa has the best ocean view by far. Wow! The main garden is literally cliff edge, the only thing separating the end of the garden and the rocks below is an array of beautiful and colourful plants and trees. The ocean view is vast and includes several white sand beaches and surf breaks.

As impressed as we are by the villa as a wedding venue it is restricted to one garden. We recommend the ceremony being on the side closest to the cliff edge and the ceremony behind. This means that the guest list is restricted to a maximum of 100.

Wonderland Uluwatu

A great event space located on Uluwatu cliff with spacious gardens overlooking pristine beaches and the ocean

Jalan Batu Nunggalan Pecatu, Kuta Selatan, Pecatu, Badung, Kabupaten Badung, Bali, Indonesia 80361

Garden view of Wonderland Uluwatu in Bali

Unlike all the other wedding venues on our list, Wonderland Uluwatu is not a villa - it’s an event space. This makes it a very affordable option although you forgo the accommodation that comes with a villa.

It’s not just one event space but several gardens and includes a few permanent features such as the Bride and Groom’s preparation rooms, the Joglo which is a wooden gazebo, toilets and an impressive raised lounge and bar area covered by a large open sided tent. This tent could also be used as a back up in case of rain with a maximum of around 50 guests.

There are several places you can hold the ceremony but we like the rustic Eden Garden which is good for up to 30 guests. There is also the Tent Deck which has a better view and is good for around 50 guests. The largest ceremony area, the Joglo Deck, can comfortably accommodate 100 guests. We would use the main garden by the pool for dinner reception (pictured) as this is a large area and can accommodate 150 guests.

The Point Deck would make a fantastic post ceremony cocktail area where your guests can take photos and if you’ve chosen the Photobooth optional add on this is where we would have it set up.

In contrast to all the wedding villas in this list which have to be rented for a minimum of 2 or 3 nights, Wonderland Uluwatu can be rented for 1 day or even for 12 hours. If you want to follow our advice and have your ceremony at 5pm and bearing in mind the curfew is 10pm then we definitely have enough time from 10am to build and arrange the wedding decoration. Therefore renting the venue for 12 hours is possible. If you wish to include other events during the day such as a Tea Ceremony then we recommend the full day rental.

Just be aware that road access to Wonderland Uluwatu is a little tricky and there are no communal air conditioned rooms for your guests to escape to if they are hot and bothered.

Notes

Wonderland has 2 nice air conditioned preparation rooms for the Bride and Groom.

Kaba Kaba Estate

A massive two hectare garden and super stylish villa interior in a secluded village away from the tourist areas

Banjar Beringkit Desa, Kaba-Kaba, Kediri, Tabanan Regency, Bali, Indonesia 82121

Garden view of villa Kaba Kaba Estate in Bali

We’ve loved Kaba Kaba Estate from the moment we first saw it during the grand opening many years ago. The pretty garden covers 2 hectares, is flat, well maintained and beautifully decorated with palm trees. The villa itself is very luxurious, its walls are decorated with original contemporary art, the furnishings are of the highest quality and overall you feel like you’ve entered the home of a rich celebrity.

Due to the size of the garden there are a lot of options for where you can position the ceremony and dinner reception areas. Regardless, you can easily accommodate 150 guests for both and maybe more. Curfew is a strict 11pm but you and some of your guests can convene to the Arabian night themed living room and have a small afterparty until 1am.

The biggest challenge for holding a wedding in Kaba Kaba Estate is its location. Travel time to Canggu is over 30 minutes, Seminyak and Kuta it is nearly 50 minutes. We can help you organise transport for your guests which isn’t very expensive . The villa itself can accommodate 16 adults and 4 children with 2 extra beds.

Pandawa Cliff Estate - Villa Markisa

A cliff edge villa with a huge grass garden surrounded by beautiful & colourful trees & flowers

Jalan Karang Putih No.18, Kutuh, Bukit, Kuta Selatan, Kutuh, Kec. Kuta Sel., Kabupaten Badung, Bali, Indonesia 80361

Garden view of villa Markisa in Bali

Villa Markisa is one of four villas in the Pandawa Cliff Estate. It’s the best of the four for hosting a wedding due to its large flat grass garden which extends to the cliff edge and has a magnificent ocean view. There’s two parts to the garden, the lower cliff edge lawn and the main large rectangular garden.

The lower lawn is the best option for ceremony area and can accommodate up to 80 guests. It is surrounded by very beautiful and colourful trees and flowers that compliments the area and works very well as natural decoration. The main garden (pictured) is very big and can accommodate up to 150 guests for dinner reception. It has a permanent gazebo on one side which is great for setting up a bar and maybe a band if you choose the optional entertainment add-on.

The other 3 villas in the resort and lots of independent villas close by could provide your guests with accommodation if it’s within their budget.

For the capacity of guests Villa Markisa represents good value for those looking for an affordable clifftop wedding villa venue with a resplendent garden. However if you are planning your wedding between November 1st to March 1st please be warned that the villa management insists you must rent a marquee and flooring as a backup plan in case of rain. This is non negotiable. We can help you organise this and we will supervise the construction on the day. Aproximate costs for a marquee and flooring for up to 50 guests is IDR 27,500,000. For up to 100 guests around IDR 55,000,000. For up to 150 guests approximately IDR 82,500,000.

Notes

Breakfast included. For weddings between November 1 to March 31 you must rent a marquee & flooring for your dinner reception.

Villa Semapura

A magical villa and beautiful garden with a view of a Bali sea temple and the ocean

Beach, Desa Cemagi, Br. Mengening, Cemagi, Mengwi, Badung Regency, Bali, Indonesia 80361

Garden view of Villa Semapura in Bali

The location of Semarapura is quite breathtaking. In front of the villa is a small Bali sea temple on the ocean surrounded by large rocks and massive crashing waves. Unfortunately from the garden of the villa you can’t see this but it would make a fantastic post wedding photo backdrop. The villa itself is lovely and has a very relaxing Bali vibe with lots of communal rooms, small gardens surrounded by tropical flowers and trees and the large garden is perfect for an event space.

We would recommend holding the ceremony on the pool deck (pictured) which can accommodate 80 guests and the dinner reception on the main lawn which can accommodate more. The villa has several permanent gazebos that can be utilised for a backup plan in case of rain.

On the same road as Semarapura are two other villa complexes which offer accommodation that is affordable and could be a good choice for your guests.

Alami Boutique Villas & Resort

A vast but remote villa complex with a spectacular view of ocean, mountains and the Bali countryside

Banjar Kebon, Tangguntiti, Kec. Selemadeg Tim., Kabupaten Tabanan, Bali, Indonesia 82162

Garden view of Alami boutique villa and resort in Bali

The Alami villas and resort is a massive estate with the largest occupancy of a private event villa in Bali that we know of - if you include the extra beds a whopping 72 guests. If not it can accommodate 48 guests in 24 private bedrooms. The rooms are basic and rustic but large.

There’s two completely separate parts of the complex that have several villas and a large event space each. The smaller of the two would make a great ceremony area and the larger of the two (pictured) is perfect for dinner reception. Due to the size of the smaller ceremony area we would recommend a maximum of 150 guests.

The big issue is location, it is a long way from anywhere. However that does mean that you have absolute privacy. The view is fantastic and uninterrupted - a 360 degrees vista of mountains, ocean, Balinese countryside and farmers fields. If you are inviting more than 72 guests we advise that your guests stay at either Soori Bali (expensive) or Joshua District Villas (affordable and great view) as they are within 20 minutes drive.

The Alami Boutique Villas & Resort is a fantastic affordable option if you want everyone staying in the same venue with complete privacy and you are don’t mind being at least 2 hours drive away from civilisation!
